Aurcorf: a Twitch streamer's universe from scratch — kitsune, moonlight and an animated set

A stream identity is not "ten separate images"; it is one idea applied in ten places. Aurcorf is one of the clearest examples: the idea is one sentence — a nine-tailed white fox under the full moon — and that sentence is the same in every piece from the channel icon to the stinger. 1. The idea: one character, one palette

The brief had the channel name, the desired tone (fantastical, calm, Japanese spirit) and a few references. We reduced it to a single character: a kitsune — white fur, a mark on the forehead derived from the channel's initial, blue-purple spirit flames. The palette came from the character: navy night ground, moon white, purple-blue flame. Once those two decisions (character + palette) were made, everything else was derivation.

2. The order: icon → banner → offline → overlay → panels → emotes → motion

We always go in the same order, because each step feeds the next:

1. Channel icon — the fox's face, readable in a circle, the forehead mark visible even at 28 pixels. The character's "face" is locked here.
2. Banner — the widest version of the world: torii gates, mountains, a lake, the fox sitting before the full moon, the channel name on the right. Safe area in the centre; name and fox visible on phones too.
3. Offline screen — the same fox asleep; "no stream" said with a pose, not words. Channel name + OFFLINE label.
4. Overlay — the plainest piece: a thin silver-purple frame, flame and paw print in the corners, the mark at the top. Centre empty, game HUD uncovered.
5. Panels — six panels, one frame, each with a themed icon (ear, paw, flame, fur curl, gear, speech bubble) plus the same serif title.
6. Emotes — six expressions: squint, sad, surprised, angry, "hmm", heart. Same fur weight, same eyes, same flame in all of them.
7. Motion — Starting Soon: moonlight glides, flames breathe, the fox waits. Stinger: flame covers the screen, the scene changes behind it; alpha-channel WebM.

3. The typography decision

A thin, tall serif for the channel name — it fits the Japanese spirit and the "calm" tone; panel and overlay labels are the uppercase version of the same face. The aggressive typefaces chosen by reflex on gaming channels are deliberately absent here.

4. Why it works

• Recognition: viewers see the fox in chat (emotes), on the channel page (banner), at stream start (animated screen) and on every scene switch (stinger). One character, four touchpoints.
• Scalability: new emotes, new panels, an animated profile picture — same fur, same flame; the identity grows without falling apart.
• Platform independence: the set was delivered at Twitch sizes; moved to Kick or YouTube the look does not change, only the sizes.

5. Delivery

Twitch-sized PNGs (icon, banner, offline, overlay, panels), 112×112 emotes, MP4 Starting Soon, alpha WebM stinger + OBS transition point note, layered source files.
